16th March, 2020 vs 17th March, 2020.

I can vividly remember a conversation I had with my neighbour back in May of this year, looking at her in disbelief when she spoke of rumours of the pandemic and lockdowns lasting until October (2020) . Oh how I wish those words were true.

On Monday 16rd March, 2020 I was certified by Barreworks as a barre instructor. On Tuesday 17th March, 2020 the UK government announced the biggest curbs on life in peacetime. That amazing feeling of confidence and accomplishment began to dwindle and I found myself wondering “What now?” The thought of teaching online absolutely terrified me and so I said to myself “I’ll just wait till the studio opens again.”

In short, the point I’m trying to make is, DON’T WAIT to do the things you want to do because you’re waiting for that ‘in person’ experience. You might find yourself waiting a long time, just like me. If you
want to train to become a barre instructor or just learn more about human movement book in now for our January course on the 18th and 19th.

Having now assisted @vickianstey lead a recent Instructor Training Online, I can assure you, the quality of teaching you will receive is equally as good as in person, if not better. Technology lends itself to easier presentation of training materials, an even more structured agenda leaving more time for practical work and the opportunity to see yourself on the screen.

Barreworks is the original pioneer of Barre and Ballet fitness in the UK. The Barreworks Instructor Training Programme (endorsed and accredited by PD:Approval – The Register of Exercise Professionals’ official Quality Assurer) is the most thorough course available for entry-level barre teacher teaching and is based on techniques that are tried, tested and used every day in our thriving studio. It has been developed over 10 years by our
Founder, Vicki Anstey and Team GB Physiotherapist, Katherine Ready. This is the only course available that is affiliated to and held by a dedicated Barre Studio.

Trust me, I get it. Zoom just isn’t the same as a real life class. You’ve been sat in front of a screen all day and the kids and pets think your plank or downward dog is a man made tent.

It doesn’t look like restrictions will be lifting anytime soon and saying that you’re just going to wait till the doors open again is not going to improve your health, fitness or mental health.

Sadly we can’t supply you with a fully equipped studio and time away from the kids, but we can promise you...
👌 Attentive instruction over Zoom. We are genuinely watching your every move and will address you throughout the class. This is your workout, not ours!
👌 Classes that are suited to EVERY level of ability. We are adept at modifying any class to suit our clients - on the spot. You won’t get a class choreographed to an inch of its life, that only a professional dancer could follow.
👌 Live Stream classes (think fly on the wall), if you’re not quite ready to get out of your PJ’s.
👌 1-2-1 (or ‘bubble’) classes over Zoom or in person at an outdoor location of your choosing.

Combining On Demand workouts from home with 1-2-1 private workouts (outdoors while restrictions are in place) is the perfect way to continue to build your strength and perfect your alignment, posture and mobility even with the Studio closed.

With the benefit of our expert guidance once a week, alongside the convenience, flexibility and low cost of doing virtual workouts via Zoom, Live Stream or On Demand from home, this is the perfect solution and works out at a similar cost to regular studio attendance or memberships.
